Cosmic rays represent one of the most profound mechanisms through which spiritual and physical reality manifests across multiple planes of existence.
These rays operate as fundamental conduits of force, consciousness, and evolutionary impulse throughout the universe.
At their core, rays are emanations from the primordial source – the ONE universal reality. They function as “threads” of consciousness-force that extend from the highest spiritual realms down to the densest physical matter.
The primary ray Sushuma, operates like “a thread through many jewels,” connecting all manifestations of consciousness across the various planes. It represents the fundamental connection between seemingly separate entities and forms.
Hierarchical Structure of Rays
Rays operate through a hierarchical structure across seven primary planes of existence. These planes represent different states of consciousness and material density, from the most spiritual to the most physical. Each plane has its own corresponding ray vibration and quality of consciousness.
“The Seven Holy Ones, Self-born from the inherent power in the matrix of Mother substance”.
The Seven Rays themselves are described as the “Seven Principal Forces” that will eventually center into “seven new Suns for the next Manvantara” (cosmic cycle of manifestation).
Ray Transmission Between Planes
The transmission of rays between planes follows specific metaphysical principles. Fohat (1), described as the constructive force of cosmic electricity, plays a crucial role in this process, acting as the dynamic energy that carries ray-impulses across different planes.
The “Central Spiritual Sun” radiates seven distinct rays, each of which becomes the guiding force for different classes of beings. When rays descend from higher to lower planes, they undergo a process of differentiation and densification. These rays “radiate from the ONE REALITY” and provide the spiritual essence that informs all manifestation.
Rays and Human Evolution
For human beings, rays operate through the seven principles of consciousness. The “Divine Ray” (Atman) proceeds directly from the One, while the other principles represent varying degrees of ray-differentiation. Through spiritual evolution, a person can attune their consciousness to “any of the seven chords of Universal Consciousness, those chords that run along the sounding-board of Cosmos”.
- The relationship between human consciousness and cosmic rays is particularly significant
The closer the approach to one’s Prototype, “in Heaven” the better for the mortal (whose personality was chosen, by his own personal deity- the seventh principle, as its terrestrial abode.)
Through spiritual practice, one can align with higher ray influences, allowing “one of the lower rays” to break, drawing the individual “higher and ever higher to the ray that supersedes the first”.
The Sushumna Ray and Spiritual Perception
Of particular importance is the Sushumna ray, described as “the first of the Seven Mystic rays of the Sun”. This ray enables adepts to perceive super-sensuous states of matter during trance states.
The Rays collectively form “the physical Upadhi (basis) of the Ether of Science
…providing the foundation through which light, heat, electricity and other forces correlate to produce effects on our physical plane.
Rays as Bridges Between Dimensions
Rays serve as bridges between dimensions, allowing consciousness to traverse different planes of existence. The “Planetary Life-Impulses” operate through these ray-channels, guiding evolution across the planetary chain. These rays enable the transmission of archetypal patterns from higher planes to lower ones, ensuring that evolution proceeds according to cosmic intelligence rather than random chance.
In the ultimate metaphysical sense, rays are not separate from the consciousness they transmit.
They represent the dynamic aspect of consciousness itself, extending through the various planes of manifestation.
The “One Life-Ray” penetrates all levels of existence, maintaining the fundamental unity of cosmos despite its apparent diversity.
By understanding the operation of rays across planes, we gain insight into the profound interconnectedness of all existence and the mechanisms through which spiritual forces influence the material world.
